What are the Mold Making Principles?
Although machines and workmanship come to the fore in the mold making phase; Dozens of precision parts are needed to create a future and make it unmistakable. If we take an example from a copy paper to understand that the prepared parts must be defect-free, a standard piece of copy paper is 0.089 mm thick, while plastic molds must be machined to tolerances of +/- 0.001″ or 0.025 mm.
Mold Materials
During the molding process, the material used must also be of high quality so that the mold can withstand the pressure. Up to thousands of tons of compression pressure is applied for even a small piece. Therefore, it is very important that the material to be used in the mold has the strength to withstand this pressure.
